Of Motutapu and Pasifika

Trip to Motutapu Island

Last weekend is the most tiring weekend ever... on sunday i went to Motutapu Island. this island is located somewhere near to the Auckland city.. so if u r sick with the city, take a ferry and go to this sacred island. having a walk is not adviseable as when u start walking, u will be so mesmerised with the nice scenery and u will keep on walking, taking pictures and walk again until u don't know where u are, lost maybe, and u will be extremely tired to walk back. that was what happened to us. haha.. we were guided by Claire, Jackie's daughter and Chris (hopefully this is his name coz i sounds like this.. haha) i don't know who he was but he seemed to know very well about the island. we left ferry building around 9am. i think that was the first time being on ferry after quite a long time. i was super excited and spent most of my time standing, taking pictures and hoping i could see any dolphin, but there was none.. haha..

motutapu is an island where a restoration program is held, encouraging the growth of native plants and we went there destroying the evil weeds.. they were beautiful, but we had to cut them off cruelly.. haha... click here to read more about Motutapu....

Pasifika Festival

the day before i went to the Pasifika Festival at Western Springs Park. that festival was all about Pacific Islands. it was on saturday... the day i supposed to sleep until afternoon... going there equals to going to all pacific islands as most of the island were there (don't know how many Pacific islands we have.. huhu)... Tonga, Samoa, Fiji and many more. that festival was all about their culture; food, arts and blablabla... a lot of food there, but i didn't buy any... actually i did at this one stall. they sold fish curry n rice. it was damn a lot and i couldn't finish it because it was just too much. and it was only $2. cheap rite?.. and it's halal of course.
Welcomed by this big-fat-sad looking fish.. the motto.. save the fish...

there were so many eels... i wonder if anybody comes here at night to catch them.. haha

quite familiar with those.. hmm

shogi was wearing 'head hunters' t-shirts... catch of the day.. haha

things u shouldn't bring to NZ.. the motto.. declare, dispose or ask...

auto juice maker.. cool

my first time meeting them.. they were once ugly duckling... still ugly?... huhu super tame and friendly swans... haha
